Verona Paranormal Investigations (VPI)
is located in the heart of Upstate Central NY, within the township of Verona NY.
Our mission
statement is simple:
1. To investigate reported claims of paranormal
events/activity,
2. To discover the source and story of local "urban
legends"
3. To assist with the enhancement of local historical agencies information data base's.
The VPI “10 Commandments":
All case information that VPI members are exposed to is
considered CONFIDENTIAL and details of such are not to be released in any form,
unless the board has a current “information release agreement” with the site or
site owners. We must at all times
protect the client’s confidentiality and privacy!
1. VPI uses very simple tools and techniques in the
collection, documentation and review of all data that is collected on
site. These tools, methods and
techniques have historically provided the best results for our organization.
2. VPI or its members are not doing this in order to become
the next “Para-celeb's". We have no
interest or desire in having a television/radio show, tons of press or to
become the "only go to group".
3. In order to get a comprehensive picture of what
"paranormal events" may (or not) be occurring we will need to conduct
a series of investigations on site during the day and in the evening. We
believe that if a location is truly active then it will be during the day as
well as at night. Contrary to what is
shown on television or movies "ghosts do not clock in" when its dark
or get active during a "golden haunting hour" that starts at o'bright
thirty in the morning.
4. We are of many faith’s and belief systems. VPI and its members must maintain an
"agnostic" view towards what paranormal events are while researching,
conducting investigations, data review and data reveals of any site. We cannot promote the concept of angels,
demons, minions, or any other religious or new age beliefs to our clients.
5. We can and often network to other investigation groups
or individuals with a specified profession or talent for professional opinions
and technical assistance.
6. VPI does not use what we consider “fringe"
sciences, techniques or technology.
These include but are not limited to: Ouija boards, dowsing rods,
crystal energy, pendent use, healers, spirit guides/channeler’s,
psychics/sensitive’s, séance’s or any unproven technology. This does not mean that we won’t allow the
“testing” of “fringe sciences/tech” but because their results are historically unproven and more often based blind faith we cannot
use their results as part of our evidence until they are proven to be
legitimate investigative tools.
7. We need to conduct our investigations and data
collection in an environment as "contamination free" as possible, so
we limit the size our investigation teams to 2-4 VPI members and 1-2
"residents" during a typical home visit. If the site is significantly larger we can
field several more investigators, a good example is a rather large mansion
house or an outside venue
8. In our travels we have found that most unexplained
events have a natural or man-made source and that "true"
haunted/active locations are few and far between. Success in one location does not mean success
at another. Popular media and MANY
paranormal groups want you to believe that this stuff occurs EVERYWHERE and
every site/location they investigate or hunt is HAUNTED. This misconception is created by people who
are in entertainment, wanting their ego stroked, seekers of fame or to promote
the success of their business/product/show.
9. We will not tell "ghost's/energies” to leave the
site or to "go into the light", this only happens in movies and on television such as Ghost
Whisperer. How would you feel if you
were told to vacate the home you've lived in for years or possibly centuries?
10. VPI (and its members) are not in the business of performing
home/site blessings, protection spells/blessings, exorcisms or services of this
nature. If you encounter someone that feels
they require this type of service then we strongly urge you to advise them to
contact their local minister/priest/priestess/rabbi. The only possible assistance we may provide
(requiring board approval) is referral assistance.
United Paranormal Research
United Paranormal Research (UPR) was organized in the summer of 2011 with members from Verona Paranormal Investigations (VPI), Oneida County Paranormal Team (OCPT) and New York State Paranormal Reseach (NYSPR).
The goal of UPR is bring together local investigation groups for networking, mutual sharing of information and ideas, but more importantly attempt to eliminate the territorial mind set that has developed between the groups in the CNY area.
UPR was placed in "temporary retirement" in the spring of 2011. If there are any groups in the greater Rome/Oneida NY area that have an interest in the mission of UPR please contact us at VeronaPI@yahoo.com .
